Jim retired from teaching in 2010 but continues to be active with many aquatic activities. He
has served as a river guide for Jim Thorpe River Adventures, while also volunteering with Team
River Runners that provides a kayak experience for veterans who are paralyzed from the waist
down. Jim has also volunteered on the Upper Delaware River, the National Park Service and is
the treasurer of the National Canoe Safety Patrol. Jim currently resides in Harleysville with his
wife Karen and son JD. Jim’s daughter, Kristin, is a 2000 graduate of Souderton and 2004
graduate of Iona College.
